MacKay Memorial 5K

It was the perfect day to honor Detective Jeremiah MacKay. The sky was beautiful and everybody could feel his presence as hundreds gathered at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department academy for the MacKay Memorial 5K.

“We’d like to offer our sincerest gratitude to the entire MacKay family for allowing us to be a part of this impactful anniversary,” said Executive Director Lolita Harper, who was the main event organizer. “We hope they felt all the love that gathered to honor Jeremiah.”

Thank you to all the runners who supported Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) through their participation, and to all of our volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make this event a success: San Bernardino Sheriff's Athletic Federation SAF members Basheer, Galindo and King; SBCSD Honor Guard and bagpipers; Academy TAC Staff and Academy Classes 230 & 231; Garry Dominguez, who served as the DJ; Lila Collins and Valerie Vaca; Sheriff’s Aviation and the Sheriff’s Historical Society.
