Negotiations Update - Specialized Fire Services
Your SEBA Specialized Fire Services (SFS) Negotiations team met last week to discuss details of initiating formal negotiations with the County in order to secure COVID premium pay and possibly enhancing the existing MOU to provide future stability.
We understand other bargaining units, not represented by SEBA, signed side letters for the COVID pay and many of your colleagues have received the first payments. Rest assured, the COVID pay is part of the upcoming negotiations. The County has shown a willingness to address other issues within the existing MOU that may include increased wages and a possible extension to the contract.
Your negotiations team will be considering this approach. Other bargaining groups, such as SEBA Safety and 935 Fire, have received additional incentives as a result of reopening and extending the current contract.
We are in the very preliminary stage. As negotiations evolve into any formal, contractual change of the existing MOU, the new contract would be put out to the vote of the entire bargaining group.
Your team and the County will be meeting in the coming weeks. We will keep the membership informed as the process continues. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
